Inside

Inside happy, clean and light,
Roaring fire burning bright,
Dancing 'cross the wooden floor,
Dwelling here for evermore.

Here, the happy, laughing guest
Lights a fire in my chest,
Melts away the frozen ground
Of the winter all around.

We sit together close, we kiss,
No words to say, no thoughts to think.
Forever in eternal bliss,
Our passion is our only drink.

You said you need me here to thrive.
With you, my heart and soul revive.
All trials shall our love survive.
Since you found me, I'm alive.
Inside empty, dark and dusty,
Pipes of metal, red and rusty.
Lying on its floor of stone,
This is where I dwell, alone.

Gone, the happy, laughing guest,
Gone, the contents of my chest,
Buried in the frozen ground
Of the winter all around.

There is no fire, no heat, no light,
No words to say, no thoughts to think.
I have no strength, myself to fight,
There's only drink now, only drink.

You didn't need me, so you said.
Walked away, no tears shed.
My shattered heart to darkness fed.
Since you left me, I am dead.
