Rich Crunchy Chocolate Tart
Please excuse the mixed measures. Also excuse the fact that this is an evil recipe and should never be eaten by anyone who wants to keep their arteries.
For the base:
7oz plain chocolate digestive biscuits
2oz butter
For the filling:
200g bar plain chocolate
1/2 pint double cream
2 medium eggs
5 tbsp milk
Put the biscuits in a strong polyethene bag and crush them with a rolling pin. Melt the butter in a pan, then stir in the biscuit crumbs until well coated. Press mixture into flan tin and chill for over half an hour.
Preheat oven at Gas Mark 3 or 160 degrees C/ 325 degrees F.
Heat the chocolate with the cream until the chocolate has just melted. Beat the eggs with the milk, then whisk in the chocolate mixture.
Pour the chocolate filling into the base. Bake for 15-20 minutes until almost set. Leave to cool and it will firm up.
