Don't forget that you cannot put metal objects in a microwave, so a suitable non-metallic container must be used.
4 oz butter
1 oz white sugar
4 level tablespoons (60ml) golden syrup
8 oz rolled oats
a pinch of salt
Put the butter and sugar into a bowl and heat on full power for 1 minute, or until the butter has melted. Stir in the syrup and salt, then work in the rolled oats until completely mixed. Press mixture into a greased shallow dish. Cook on full power for 3 minutes. Leave to cool slightly in the dish, then make cutting marks. When cold cut into pieces.
