Shortcrust Pastry


225g / 8 oz flour
115g / 4 oz butter / margarine
water


Rub the butter and the flour together until like crumbs. Add water a little at a time, bringing the pastry together with a knife. If using the pastry for a base (for example, for Gypsy Tart) then bake at Gas Mark 5 / 190 degrees C / 375 degrees F.
