Low Fat Chips

Maris Piper potatoes are suggested for this. I quite like them with salt and Worcestershire sauce. If you get bored of these, try a seasoned version.

1lb potatoes

Wash and peel the potatoes. Cut them into approximately 1cm / 1/4 inch square chips. Put chips into a pan of boiling water boil for 4 minutes. Drain off chips and leave to cool. Return chips to empty dry pan, put a lid on it and shake the chips to rough up the edges. Preheat oven to Gas Mark 9 / 240 degrees C / 475 degrees F. Place chips in a baking tray or on a baking sheet, spaced as much as possible, and cook for 20 / 25 minutes, turning occasionally to cook evenly and minimise sticking.
